BLACK, WHITE AND BLONDE

Beautiful hair is so worth the effort. Great shampoo, great conditioner, treatments baby!, and my new favourite product, Argan oil. Rich in Vitamin E, fatty acids and other nourishing compounds, it smoothes your hair and makes it shine!

IT’S JUST THE BEGINNING

And I thought that plaits were on the way out. Judging by this editorial in Vogue Nippon, it seems plaits are just getting started…

PRETTY IN PINK

I couldn’t decide which shot I liked better… the loose pony and Burberry pastel trench, or the tighter pony and frilly Fendi shoulder. So you get both!

I love that really girly hair is back in (thank you Prada!). This time it’s just one pony and a sweet little bow. The perfect finishing touch for this [...]

MESSY PLAITS

The perfect hairstyle for days when you’re aimlessly wandering through the forest…

Create a center part. Plait the two sections. Pin the plaits around your crown. Mess up with your fingertips, or by meandering through the woods… it’s up to you! And there you go, maiden-chic! ;)

CURLY WHIRLY

I find really tight curls to be too ‘young’ for me. Here however, paired with tiny leather shorts, long legs and a gorgeous Chloe cape, they definitely lighten the mood. Whip out your mid-size barrel tongs and hairspray, et voila!

YELLOWTAIL

When a regular plait doesn’t cut it, you’re over top buns, and your hair is way too dirty for it to be out, the fish plait is definitely the hairstyle for you. These have been popping up everywhere lately, and if you don’t know how-to, just youtube it! It is eeeeasy!

BUNNY

Why have one bun when you can have two! After seeing my gorgeous friend Bec sporting two little buns last week I’ve been contemplating it, but now after seeing this shot, I’m going to try it around the house and who knows… might even wear it out this weekend!

WHITE OUT

I love the powdered hair look – it’s all very Marie Antoinette! The best way to get this look for a night out or party or whatever is to spray heaps and heaps of dry shampoo over your hair. Don’t brush it out or otherwise the white will disappear so make sure your hair is [...]

As sweet as cherry pie

I have been super boring with my hairdos of late. Which is pretty much why I love the following shoot by Alasdair McLellan from Vogue UK May 2010. Model Karlie Kloss is simply sporting a blowdry and looks for the following two days!! I’m so grateful, this is has just determined my hairstyles for the [...]

I’ve got my eye on you…

Move over middle part, you’re last year’s baby. All over the Spring/Summer 2010 and Fall 2010 Ready To Wear catwalks was the deep side part. Parted over one eye and wispily falling over the other, it’s easily wearable and super sexy.

Blaise Reutersward shot Marloes Horst for the cover of Vogue Nippon (April 2010) wearing this [...]

A New Muse

Last Saturday I shot for online magazine A New Muse. It was incredible! A pastel story with pieces from Ms Vivienne Westwood, Sass & Bide, Ime and others, it was totally inspiring. I made my own pastel lipcolours ranging from pink and purple to green and gray, and made our model’s, Brielle’s, hair thunderstruck. It [...]

Up, Up & Away

The Sydney humidity has been killing me and my enthusiasm to anything decent with my hair these past few weeks, so I’m declaring it Lazy Bun Season! I’m endeavouring to find the latest, cutest buns about town to make my hairstyles a bit more fun (and super speedy)! If there are any you have come [...]

The Book Of Right-On

It’s been Festival time here in Sydney  and I have sure been making he most of it. Gigs, films, exhibitions…you’re going to hear all about it!
I’ve seen so many inspiring artists, one of them being my favourite musician, Joanna Newsom. The Sydney Opera House, Row D (!!) and with my best friends all dressed beautifully, [...]

NYC Day 7 – Spring 2010 RTW

Makeup was pretty meh for me today at the shows. I guess it’s hard to live up to yesterday’s excitement. So today I thought I’d dedicate my post to hair accessories.

All of the girls at 3.1 Phillip Lim, no matter what their face shape, hairstyle or skintone, had these little red clips. With the orange [...]

NYC Day 3 – Spring 2010 RTW

Day 3’s looks were either really fresh or quite dramatic, but definitely not in an overdone way.

As the outfits were all bright and colourblocked at Lacoste (above), the makeup was exceedingly minimal. A clean face with moisturiser, a dab of concealer under the eyes (and on spots if necessary) and a row of black false [...]
