Life is all about the little things. And for me, amazing fashion magazines are about the small details; the tiny symbol that ends an article, the description on the spine of the magazine, and the quirky interviews of the contributors.
Keeping that in mind, you can imagine the little squeal I had to myself when I was looking at the current issue of i-D magazine and saw the continuity of body makeup in the two shoots starring Mariacarla Boscono.
The first, shot by Will Vanderperre, has Mariacarla as a lithe beauty in a romantically lit room, and the second, shot by Paola Kudacki, has her as an energetic, feline warrior. If you look closely you’ll see slashes of white body paint across Mariacarla’s thigh and hands. White, the colour of perfection and innocence, is youthfully applied to her body keeping the magazine’s ethos as alive and cool as ever. Oh i-D!
